Howdy Y’all,
It’s official : ).  The Reverb Junkie album, All I Want, is coming out September 10, 2013.  This album means a great deal to me – as it is my first entirely self-produced album (other than a very strange album I made in high school that had way too much reverb on everything).  For All I Want – I got to create the sounds, concepts, and artwork.  I recorded it, mix it, chopped it up, added layers, and cut away the extra – until it sounded just like I wanted.

Right now, the album is being specially mastered by a dear friend and musical influence of mine.

I am so excited to share what I made with you.

FRAN-Communication

FRANMAIL

Hello There : ),
Hope this message finds you very well. I’ve been poking around on the internet while getting a new music snippet out, and I’ve realized it might be time to address communicating. First and foremost, I am deeply grateful to receive the support, encouragement, stories, pictures, sounds, words, and energy coming from you.  It’s inspiring and very moving to be a part of.

Second – the nature of the communication I can have with you is somewhat limited by nature. I spend upwards of 6 hours a day creating music, in addition to designing graphics, posting content, eating, walking, sleeping, reading, having phone conversations with family/friends, brushing my cat’s teeth, showering, planing trips to visit family, brushing my own teeth, and the list goes on.  This leaves very limited time for me to hit back those who are kind enough to reach out, and I know there is going to be a large discrepancy between those who reach out and those who are getting responded to.  Please know, I take in as much of the awesome media as I can and respond to as many people as I can.

With this in mind, if you are sending a piece of media that requires a response from me – there is no way to guarantee one. I’ve found the most satisfying messages to send to others are the ones where we speak our own truth and action from someone else doesn’t change the value of the message.  All of your words, thoughts, art, and beyond are unique and wonderful.  By creating them, you are putting that energy out there and resulting change will come.  No matter the response, you have put something new and meaningful into the world.

Time for me to pop back to the studio!

Much love and respect,
MC

Thank You Frans, Thank You Coach

So, it’s been one week since you looked at me, cocked your head to the side and said “I’m angry”.  Oh, wait, that’s a song.  I mean, it’s been about one week since the The Voice season 4 has ended, and I wanted to make a post thanking everyone that made the journey possible.  The people who voted.  The ones who stayed up late watching, cheering, smiling, or getting caught up in the moment.  The people who stayed up late coaching.  Those who guided me, were patient with me, and protected me. The people behind the cameras.  The people who made the sets, clothing, lights, FIRE, and stage. Those who took the show and used it to do wonderful things they never though possible – like being themselves, changing careers, being kinder to others, or giving life a second chance.

Man. The show gave me a chance to explore myself, music, the relationships around me, and has very much challenged me to keep growing into who I want to be.  And though it may look like the ending to a successful TV story, it’s the beginning of another.

TRJ STUDIO SESH #3

track by Madeon (facebook.com/itsmadeon)
vocals by M. Chamuel (facebook.com/thereverbjunkie)

Madeon’s original track makes me so happy – I wanted to write tune that combines the feeling I get from Whitney Houston’s “How Will I Know” with Katy Perry’s “TGIF.” Thus, this track.

Hope to make you smile. If you do. Pass it on.

Six Degrees to Madeon

So, I heard Madeon‘s new track, “The City,” played it 200 times in a row, and decided I would work with him. Madeon lives in France and has no idea The Reverb Junkie exists.

DilemaN! So, I found an instrumental of his that I loved and got to work.

Now, I have completed a track (featuring Madeon) and am working on a video – both to be released next week. If you guys enjoy it and then you tell six friends who tell six friends…Madeon will know the Reverb Junkie exists soon enough.

Stay tuned Verbies. This is going to be fun.
